The Mother of All Nations
In Lebanon, over 20,000 Arabic prayer cards of the Mother of All Nations were distributed in the Christmas season. This is just the beginning of a new enthusiasm for the worldwide action of the Mother of All Nations in this Middle Eastern country!
Lina Riachi Berger, a Lebanese woman who married in Germany, understood so deeply the relevance and scope of this Marian devotion that last July she gave Béchara Cardinal Raï, the Maronite Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, a beautifully framed picture of the Mother of All Nations. Lina's heartfelt desire, which she wanted to express with this gesture, was that Lebanon would be placed under her protective mantle.
For the Day of Prayer on September 2, 2017 in Dusseldorf, we received written greetings from Cardinal Raï, and on his behalf Lina presented two gifts: a relic of St. Rafqa and a cloth which had lain on the incorrupt body of St. Charbel Makhlouf.
Before Christmas in 2017, 20,000 prayer cards along with 2,000 novenas of the Mother of All Nations were brought to various places of pilgrimage in Lebanon, where people were allowed to take them for free. Within a week all the materials had been given out in the monasteries of St. Charbel, St. Rafqa, and St. Veronica Giuliani. In addition to many other monasteries and churches, the prayer cards were also brought to Our Lady of Lebanon in Harissa, the largest Marian shrine in the Middle East.
Lina wrote us: “In the meantime 50,000 prayer cards have again been printed in outstanding quality, and a quarter of them are already gone as well. The Lebanese tear them out of our hands. Most people took large numbers of them to pass them out themselves. Our Muslim brothers and sisters also accepted them very gratefully. We recommended to all the faithful that they pray the prayer of the Mother of All Nations after each decade of the Rosary. They liked that. There are many nice things to be told, but we will first let the fruits of prayer mature. By the way, in the future, prayer cards will also always be printed in Arabic, so that they never run out in Lebanon.”
It is a great prayer intention that the day of prayer planned for 2018 in Lebanon can take place according to the wishes of the Mother of All Nations. In that way, she, as the Mother of All Nations, can convey many graces to her children in Lebanon. It will be from Marian Lebanon that the Mother of All Nations will certainly make her way to other countries of the Middle East, “from city to city, from country to country,” as she herself said.
